It was in the early seventies that I first heard of Australia. My uncle had just got a permanent residence visa. He was quickly followed by his brother. Together they would write back about the beautiful land that is Australia. Since then, I knew that someday, I would go there. I continued to nurture this dream, right till I was in college, when I first applied for immigration. Sadly, I was rejected. This really shattered me and, for many years I did not have the courage to apply again, despite encouragement from my friends and relatives. Each time my cousins from Australia would go back after a visit, there would be a lump in my throat. When was I going to join them? About 2 years back, I was surfing the web when I came upon your website. By the time I had gone through the site I was convinced that my childhood dream was going to come true. Then came the awful paperwork. Without your guidance and supreme confidence, I have to admit, I would not have had the courage to apply. It was your constant guidance and encouragement that pushed me and my wife to go ahead. One thing that touched me was that I was never a mere statistic or file number for you. I was a human being with dreams and aspirations, and you and your staff have never failed to convey that impression. Whenever I had queries, (and I had many, many of them), whether they were valid ones or seemingly stupid, you and your staff have never let me down. I was always given an answer within 24 hours. You took it upon yourself to convince my sponsor to fill up his forms correctly, by calling him directly. I know of very few people who would do something like that. Last week, we got our visas stamped. I could not help but become a bit emotional about this. It was a dream come true. Without your help and advice, I would NEVER have managed to get the paperwork done. It is a bit strange that though you have been instrumental in affecting our lives in such a big way, I have not even met you. Yet I feel that we’ve been friends for a long time. The fact that I lived in Mumbai, and you in Chennai, did not cause ANY problem whatsoever, in our dealings. I want to thank you and your staff for all the help we received and for making me realize my childhood fantasy of going to Australia.

Having failed once before, while I had applied to New Zealand for PR on very flimsy grounds, I was very pessimistic about the whole issue of applying all over again, this time to Australia. Like a wise man said ‘Once bitten, twice shy , third time try’ so I did.
